Pegasus onsite auction this weekend

Media release: 9 March 2010

COMPETITIVE PRICING FOR PEGASUS ONSITE AUCTION

Offering a selection of properties from lakeside frontage to tree-lined avenue, 50 lots at Pegasus - North Canterbury's newest town - will be auctioned with low starting bids in a one-day silent auction on Sunday, 14 March.

With starting bid pricing from $130,000, competition for the 50 lots, including 47 sections and three land and house packages, is expected to be lively, says Pegasus Town managing director Bob Robertson.

"With no further reserve set after the low start bid price, the highest bidder on each lot, on the day, will secure that property - so we anticipate a good crowd and look forward to some fierce competition," says Bob Robertson.

"So bidders can get a head-start on their choice of property, we are also giving people a chance to reserve a first bid prior to the auction and enjoy a $5,000 first bidder advantage."

The lots to be auctioned are part of the town's first stages of development and must be cleared before the release of new stages, says Bob Robertson.

"With property prices on the rise as the economy recovers, this is a unique opportunity - and likely to be the last chance for a real bargain at Pegasus."

747 residential sections at Pegasus have been sold to date, with a large number of homes now underway, and new construction starting weekly.

"As development at Pegasus progresses, we are seeing interest in property sales increase significantly," says Bob Robertson.

"With a number of attractions and amenities already complete, such as the recently opened Pegasus Golf Course and the Pegasus Convenience Centre, visitors to the town can really see the town taking shape, and can begin to experience the Pegasus lifestyle - whether it's a playing 18 holes on the Pegasus Golf Course or swimming from one of the 11 beaches in Lake Pegasus."

"The focus for 2010 will be construction on the temperature-controlled swimming bay, rock hotpools and waterfront pavilion. And, of course, welcoming new residents to the Pegasus community."

The 50 lot silent auction will take place onsite at Pegasus at 2pm, Sunday, 14 March. A stock list, and terms and conditions for the auction can be obtained from the Pegasus Sales and Information Centre, 116 Pegasus Boulevard, Pegasus, phone +64 3 943 2050 or email sales@pegasustown.com. All intending bidders must register prior to bidding.

About Pegasus
Pegasus, a town for up to 7000 people being built 25 kilometres north of Christchurch, will be the largest fully-zoned, integrated town development of its kind in New Zealand. The town, on 420 hectares bordering Pegasus Bay in North Canterbury, is part of the Waimakariri District.

Pegasus has been designed to create a community built on a remarkable array of recreational features - a feature lake with filtered and heated swimming bay, extensive hot pools, restaurants, cafés and bars, shopping districts, a superb beach with dedicated surf club, an 18-hole golf course, yacht club, KidZone play facilities, equestrian centre and much more.

Pegasus is being developed by Infinity Investment Group Holdings Ltd, a Wanaka-based property investment and development company carrying out $1.6 billion of development projects in the South Island, and joint-venture partner Brookfield Multiplex, one of the country's largest fully-integrated property businesses owned by Brookfield Asset Management which has circa $95 billion of global assets under management.
